In order to immigrate as a self-employed person, you must meet 4 eligibility requirements including having relevant experience, be willing and able to be self-employed in Canada, meet medical and security guidelines, and meet the specifics of this immigration path; all of which are explained below.

In the eyes of the Canadian government, having relevant experience falls under 2 categories. Either having world-class level experience in athletics, or cultural activities, or been a self-employed person in either athletics or cultural activities. As well, you must also have this experience within 5 years ago, and have at least 2 years experience.

Specific selection criteria for this Visa also depends on your language skills, adaptability in Canada, age, education, as well as your experience. You also must provide a medical examination, and provide police certificates to obtain this Visa.

This Visa leads to you earning your permanent residence (PR) in Canada. This provides you with all of the benefits of being a citizen, except for voting in elections, and joining the military.
